You can make this world a better place

There is a practice in wilderness camping that you should leave the places that you have been exactly as you found them. It would be as if you were never there.
That is great for wilderness camping, but not for your legacy here on earth. The goal is to add something to our world. One has to ask oneself as they look over where they have trodden, have I made a mess, or have I left it as I found it, or have I made it better in one way or another.
You have been given a measure of talents. What have you done with them. Have you used them and multiplied them. Have you used them to be a blessing to others. As you look behind where you have been do you see lives touched and changed because you had been there.
I will keep this positive. Just suffice it to say that you want to see lives touched for the better rather than leaving behind lives in turmoil because of you.
It’s fine to leave a sum money for your progeny but the life of one of His little ones, is worth far more than all the gold and silver in the whole world. It’s fine to get a 4.0 in school but it is far more important that one is a caring, loving, forgiving, compassionate, selfless individual. It nice to make a lot of money. But how you make it and what you do with it is more important.
If you want to see change in our country don’t point fingers at the (mostly) worldly, greedy, morally inept, (there I said it) people in leadership. Focus on your life. Focus on your relationships. When people leave your presence let them feel good. Let them be challenged. Let them see goodness and graciousness and truth and light and every other good thing.
Don’t worry about mammoth accomplishments. Just be you. Just be who God created you to be. And most importantly don’t try to measure up to anyone else. And don’t let anyone try to change you into their image. You were fearfully and wonderfully made, hand crafted in your mother’s womb. There is no one like you anywhere.
But in the same light. You, change. Go from glory to glory. Build your life, precept upon precept, line upon line. Experience new things. Meet new people. See the good. Bless whosever, the just and the unjust. Pray for those in leadership roles in whatever capacity.
And when you meditate and look back, not on your material things, but on the important things (people), you will smile and say…
I done good.
