We were created in His Image. What happened?

We were created in His Image.  What happened?

Do you know that you were made in the image and likeness of God.  “And God said, let us make man in our image, after our likeness”.  Gen 1:26. Then the fall of man happened.  Then everything went to pot; Man, the animals, the earth.  We were pretty much we left to fend for ourselves.

What happened that day changed everything.  We are what we are because of Him.  When He took His Spirit from man that day, He also took his likeness and his image.  Do you see what I’m saying. Without Him we are the most vial of creatures.  Lovers of self.

Let’s take a test.  What is God like and what are you like without God.  Forget about you.  Let me take the test.  I can only speak for myself.  I cared about people, but I cared about myself more.  I was moderately thoughtful to others, but my mind was mainly on me.  I was extremely introspective.  I was very self-conscious with a very low self-image.  That’s only the not so bad stuff.  We don’t need to go into the lust and pride, but of course that was there.  I didn’t lie or swear and was very good to my parents.  I wasn’t all that bad, so I thought.

When one comes to the crossroad of knowing oneself with all of your good points and achievements countered with all of your bad, and you look at God and you see something different, you begin to question who you really are, and am I ok.

Many don’t come to that crossroad, sad to say.  I did a while back.  I saw a God that turned the other cheek.  One who forgave seventy times seven.  One who said love your enemies, do good to those who hate you.  Bless them who that curse you, and pray for them who despitefully use you.  What about what he said to Mary, his mother and his own family.  “Who is my mother and my brothers.”  He answered himself and said, “whoever does the will of my Father in Heaven.”  In Mathew 5:27-28 he says “You have heard that it was said to them of old, thou shalt not commit adultery.  But I say unto you whosoever looks on a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart.  What about when he says to be angry with someone is a bad as killing someone.

Wow.  The list is endless.  Read it for yourself.  Either Jesus was the Messiah and our Savior, or he was a lunatic.  I believe he is the former.

Because I do, I had to make a decision.  My life simply didn’t line up to Him.  I certainly didn’t look like Him, or act like him, or respond like him, or love like him.  I was really the opposite in many ways.

At that crossroad I simply said that I can’t do this.  I am not able.  At that point in a moment in the fall 1978 that I will never forget, I asked him to come and help me be as he wanted me to be.  Wow again.  He came supernaturally and supped with me.  I was filled with His Holy Spirit.  His Spirit, His Image, His likeness came and put a shadow over my spirit.  The man (Rick) was still there with self.  But from then on, unto this very day His spirit overshadows me.  He leads me and guides me.  I make some wrong turns and He either gently or aggressively puts me on the right way.

Now I can say that I am made in His Image.  I love to create.  I love others with that agape love (unconditionally), I love to serve, especially those who can’t repay or those who use me. I look at women as my sister, as a person, with a heart and soul.  I love my enemies as Christ does.  Think of it.  On the cross, to the ones who put Him to death, He said, Father, forgive them.

It’s not to say that that old man Rick is not there.  But like I said, His spirit is always there; still to love me and forgive my trespasses.

Oh, that we could all love as Jesus loves.  That we could forgive as He forgave and continues to forgive.  That we could intercede and pray for others as Jesus intercedes for us to the Father.

Alas, it is not so.  Many never come to that crossroad.  I don’t know why, God knows.  It’s not for me to see clearly or understand all things.  That’s his deal, not mine.  I am called to love.  Especially to those who don’t see and choose to reject Him.

My goal in life is simply and totally to reflect His Image onto my fellow man.  I want people to look and see, what God is like.  Again, Rick is always there too to screw things up.  But hopefully people have the same grace for me as I have for them

What does this all have to do with health.  Could you imagine the creator living inside of you.  The one who made you.  As you ask Him in, he does a cleansing like no other type (whether it be coffee enemas or saunas or bowel cleansers).  It’s not to say one shouldn’t do those cleanses, but He augments and trumps them all.

Oh Praise Be to God.  He lives.  And He lives in me.
