THE PEACE OF GOD

Let my continence reveal the peace that you have given me.
This peace is a flower, it’s an oak tree, it’s a field of produce ready for the harvest. It’s a culmination of yes, blood sweat and tears, but also of a loving and nurturing and attending and providing for all that is needed.
Can there be any higher goal or aspiration than to sit before the Lord in total peace and gratitude for all of his blessings. Even in the midst of world turmoil and much personal turmoil, you have given me every spiritual blessing that I need.
Things haven’t turned out the way that I planned. Even though I see your hand in everything I didn’t see that it would all happen this way. How can it be that I am disappointed on so many fronts but at the same time I have a deep, deep, deep trust in you and your ways. Such that I know that you are working everything out for the good of those that love the Lord and are called according to His promise.
It’s from this heart of peace and gratefulness that springs of praise come forth out of this well that you have supplied. Abundant water. Overflowing water. Clean, cold, sparkling, refreshing. Oh, the goodness and greatness of God Almighty, strong in power, but also in mercy. We cannot, after silent reflection, refrain from the praises. It’s a well, it’s a spring. I cannot but help to praise and worship. It is there. It just comes out and there is no stopping it.
Oh, that others could feel your glory. Help me in my humble and simple way to shine this light of your glory. Let them look past my imperfections and shortcomings and look deeper into my heart to see the glory that only belongs You.
