Sleep

Sleep

Hop onto your father’s lap.  Snuggle in.  There is safety there.  There is a sense of comfort and reassurance.  Everything will be alright.  Our imagination often gets the better of us and wants to run wild.  But if we can only make it to our father’s lap, he will put everything into perspective.  He will smile.  He will hold us tightly.  And all of the troubles both perceived and real, dissipate into thin air.

But we have to find our father first.  It will take a little faith.  And a little searching.  Some crying out for him.  But as we seek, we will most assuredly find (him).  He is always there.  He is always available in a moment’s notice.

At that point it becomes second nature.  You say to yourself, he has always been there for me in the past and he will always be there in the future.  He never fails.  Oh, the bliss.  I hear soft words of encouragement.  I feel the gentle touch.  I see the smile on his face.  That’s all I need.  His loving affirmation.  His acceptance.  And all he needs is my eager reliance on him.  Just meditate on all of that.  Wow.

Once your day is done drift off into sleep.  Into a world where no problems exist.  Up to eight hours where you are taken out of this world and all of its problems.  I just love to go there.  And if I awaken at some point during the night, my mind may want to wander.  But I am re(mind)ed of my father once again, hop on his lap, trusting totally in him, drifting back off to sleep.

                                                   good night
