Ours is not to wonder why.

Which side of the coin are you on (right now). Are you experiencing tragedy or are you a bystander seeing it. How on earth are we to react. Emotionally, spiritually, physically. I know that we can count on having troubles in this world. It doesn’t matter if you’re rich or poor or the color of your skin. But again, how do you deal with tragedy and how do you help others through it.
I think that our example is Job, on how to deal with tragedy. One of my favorite scriptures is Job’s response to loosing just about everything. He fell down and worshiped. So, you have two choices. You either believe this tragedy is from God and you curse Him, or you bow down before Him and accept what He has allowed to happen.
Now there is a bridge that helps those in tragedy mode, make it to the side of bowing down and worshiping God. That bridge is one bridge, but made up of many individuals that are deployed by the Lord our God. They are the servants of the Most High. They are deployed by Him to meet the needs of those that are suffering. Those who need a physician.
Look for those who are going through troubled waters. The harvest is plentiful. There are many who just need a little help. A little encouragement. Then there are those who need an abundance of help. In any case, look on the fields. There are many out there. Either in your back yard or your city or state or country or out there somewhere in the world.
Go. It is a given that He is sending you. Don’t ask why. Just die (to yourself). Pick up (your cross) and go. Pick up, and or pack up. For an hour, for a day, for a week, weeks, months, years. Just go and do something.
Will you be like Job’s friends and stand idly by and just offer advice. Or on the flip side if you find yourself in the shoes of Job, how will you react to the trouble that you’re in.
This is the place where evil and goodness meet. This is the place where goodness triumphs over evil. But this isn’t a given. Goodness doesn’t somehow, automatically triumph. There involves a lot of sacrifice. A lot of dying to oneself. A lot of giving up of wants and sometimes needs (temporarily). It’s like weeding a garden or plowing a field. Much effort goes into getting a harvest.
So too a harvest of goodness comes at a price. Setting time aside. Going and doing. Don’t look at all the evil and complain. Penetrate that dark unknown. Break loose from the comfort and security of your life. Replace evil with goodness. How? Look around. The needs are everywhere. There is no excuse. There is no handicap (that you may have) that can keep you from affecting the life of someone in need.
Travel light here. Don’t amas a kingdom here on earth that may have taken years to build, that can easily be taken away in a matter of minutes. Separate yourself from the cares of this life. And attach yourself to the mindset of helping and serving others in Jesus Name. Lay up for yourself treasures in heaven. You can’t take money with you. But in your coffin (to speak), you will take all that you have done in love with much sacrifice. That and only that will carry over to the other side.
Ours is not to wonder why,
Ours is only to go and die.
Only that which is done in love,
Will we see again in glory above.
