It's all about me, or is it.

It is good to come to grips with your inner man.  Many things come your way in your lifetime.  Some good, some not so good.  Some very bad.  Some acute, some chronic.  We are the sum total of what we are at birth and what happens to us along the way.

Obviously, some things we can’t change, some things we can.  Some decisions or agreements or contracts we make along the way are irrevocable.  Some are for a specified amount of time, some for a lifetime.

How about we take all of the good and all of the bad and start a new (at least in our mind’s eye).  Now if you are in harms way, either physically or emotionally, you need to make some hard choices to get out of the situation.  But if not, and you are able, take a hard look at your situation and ask the Holy Spirit to shed light on your life.

Instead of trying to fix this or that, ask the Holy Spirit to come and fill you.  Not wanting to change things but to somehow accept them.  That He would interject His miraculous power.  It’s as if we step aside and allow Him to do his work.

It’s like the apprentice stepping aside to watch the master do the work.  You let go and let God.  There are three levels you may find yourself in these situations, totally relying on yourself and being totally frustrated, asking the help of the Holy Spirit and truly trusting in Him but allowing yourself to be frustrated anyway, and the third is totally trusting in Him and rejoicing in the midst of the circumstance knowing that He knows everything from beginning to end.  Knowing that He is working even now and that all things will work out.

Of course, the latter is where we want to be.  That’s the place of freedom.  The place where we can still dream.  The place where we have the energy to have visions and begin to set those visions and dreams into reality.  That’s where a dying soul is replaced by reason to live.  That’s where mourning is turned into dancing.  That’s where sackcloth and ashes is replaced by a garment of praise.  That’s where the light dispels the darkness.

I know it’s easier said than done.  And I don’t have answers to most of life’s problems.  Maybe it’s best to separate yourself from of life’s more challenging issues if it is possible.  Get off of the merry-go-round so to speak and rest.  If there is a sanctuary get there.  If that’s not possible set time aside for yourself.  Apply the Balm of Gilead.  Anoint your head with oil.  There is supernatural help you know.  Call out to Him.  Cry out to Him.  He hides Himself sometimes for some reason.  But if you truly seek Him, you will find Him.

You are not alone.  We all are on this journey of life.  We are all different with a different set of problems

There are a cascade of problems envelop me,

There is no way out that I can see.

I look to you, my savior, my friend,

          My helper to the end.

You lift my spirit above it all

It simply happens, when I call.
