Come Holy Spirit

My mind is filled with things to do. How do I prioritize? What should I do and what should I leave undone. What should I do today and what should I put off till tomorrow.
When I’m left to myself, I tend to be a simple person and very foolish. I can’t see beyond myself and my needs and my wants. The desire of self is a burden that we all carry. The Holy Spirit can free us of those burdens.
But one has to be willing. One has to be open and prayerful. You have to be intentional. You have to want it above all else.
“Come Holy Spirit, I need you, come sweet spirit I pray. Come in Thy strength and thy power. Come in thine own gentle way”.
How does anyone ever come to that point when they desire and ultimately ask. It most assuredly comes at the point of the salvation of your soul where you ask the Lord your God to come into your spirit and wash all of the iniquity away and fill you with His Breath of Life.
But as you continue your journey of faith you realize the initial filling of His Holy Spirit was not enough. You still occupy this fleshly home. You are still very carnal (worldly) in your thinking and desires. You are still bombarded with the world system and all of the proverbial carrots that it puts in front of you. You say, come Holy Spirit I need you.
It’s a glorious thing. It’s our free will coinciding with His will. Think about it. We are not possessed and ordered what to do. We ask for guidance. And to the best of our ability, we follow through.
The initial salvation experience is freely done on our part. The continued walking with God is also freely done on our part. Oh, to walk with God as Adam did before the fall. We can still do that today even though we find ourselves in a fallen world.
Heaven has truly come down to this earth. It is a spiritual kingdom. It is granted to those who freely choose it. It’s not a given. But it’s given to those who ask.
The Holy Spirit can be likened to water, wind, fire and oil. We are cleansed and our sins are washed away at salvation. The breath of God causes our spirit to come alive. The fire melts away the dross (impurities). With the oil we are anointed to continue His Work here.
The world is constantly knocking on our door, watching and waiting. My advice to me and all of us, is to watch and wait for the Holy Spirit, on a daily basis.
