America, to be or not to be.

     There is much talk about the future of America as a nation.  Some say we are the “Mystery Babylon”.  Some say revival is happening and God will still bless America.  Then there is everything in between.  Like there is still time if we repent as a nation and turn from our wicked ways, He will heal our land.

     Who really knows the mind of God Almighty.  To me, looking at it all, it seems like there is so much corruption in our government and in those in power that there is no way that this nation can be salvaged.  They are so intrenched.  It’s like a cancer.  If caught early and one changes the way they live (body, mind and spirit) and gets treatment then there is a chance at recovery.  But when it reaches a certain point there is almost no chance of survival.

     The same is with our country.  Most of us, me included, did not know the depth of the corruption until recently.  I grew up in the 50’s and on.  Life was simple.  Bikes and fixing flat tires, swimming at the local water hole, playing till the streetlights came on (hide and seek, kick the can), sitting on the front porch at night because there was no ac, playing with army men, playing marbles and trading stamps, on and on. 

     For most church on Sunday was a priority.  Most stores were closed except for a drug store here and there.  Sunday was a time to relax and spend time with family.  Even with 10 children in our family we all sat down to eat at the supper table every night.  Most mothers stayed at home to raise their children.

     Something slowly happened along the way.  Even now I think most people are honest.  But because of all of the blessings we have turned from reliance on God to reliance on ourselves and our government.  While we were living our simple life a behemoth invaded our shores.  It had many heads; government, military industrial complex, financial, tech, medical. We have become puppets on a string.  Our once independent lives have become dependent on other entities. 

     So that is the state of current events in the last 70 years or so.  The problem is that this behemoth pretty much is evil, and it has swayed the people away from simplicity and honor and good works to one of submission to a higher power.  That higher power is not God.  It has taken the place of God.

     Where does that leave us in light of my original thought of is it too late for America.

     Who knows the mind of God and His ways,

          I would submit that all we can do is pray.

     It may very well be that the corruption is far too great,

          And in His judgement, he cannot wait.

     Either we will be or not be,

         All I can say is, be ready.
